About me

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to my first blog- I am so excited to see where this journey will take us. I have started this blog as I am going to be participating in an overseas assignment which is often described as the 'business version of peace corps'.

I have decided to start my blog now, 3 weeks before I leave. I figure that before I go overseas and start sharing my perceptions, observations and experiences it would be worth sharing a little about myself and the cultural lens that I will be applying in following blog posts. This idea was inspired by my colleague Mike who began his blog with a little about his life. Mike is also on assignment and you should go check out his blog here.

As such, this blog post will be a summary of who I am now and if you read on, I have shared what it was like for me growing up in Australia, what my work life has entailed so far and also about my assignment.

About Me:
  • I am 27 years old and live in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
  • I have been working for IBM for the past 7 years and absolutely love it.
  • I am a registered psychologist, specialising in Organisations.
  • I am the oldest of 6 kids and my siblings mean the world to me <3
  • My partner and I have been together for 3 years.
  • I have an amazing group of friends and see them as often as I can.
  • I believe in giving back to society and doing things for the right reasons.
  • I haven't done a lot of travel so this assignment / what I share through this blog will be an eye-opening experience for me. Travel experience to date: 1 week in New Zealand, 1 week in Singapore, 1/2 day in Malaysia and 1 day in Indonesia.
